2007 Pool Hours

Lifeguards on Duty

Pool Hours

Closed till May 2008

Londonderry HOA Community Pool Policies

Pool Hours:  The LHOA pool is closed on Mondays for cleaning.  Should a holiday fall on a Monday, the pool will remain open for the holiday and then will be closed the following day for cleaning (i.e., Memorial Day is on a Monday, so the pool will be open on that Monday and closed the next day, Tuesday.)

Adult Swim / Rest Period:  There will be a ten-minute rest period every hour, at 10 minutes before the hour (i.e., 2:50-3:00 pm).  All swimmers under eighteen years of age are required to exit the pool water for this period of time.  Adults, eighteen years of age and older, choosing to swim laps will swim at their own risk.

Swim Lessons:  Only LHOA approved swim instructors are allowed to give swim lessons in the LHOA pool.  Persons, other than adult parents of a child, wishing to provide swim lessons must contact the LHOA Pool Liaison for permission.  This is an insurance liability and a signed waiver of liability may be required.

 Private Pool Parties:

ü        The LHOA will not close the pool during regularly scheduled hours in order to facilitate a private party.

ü        The pool may be rented for a private party at the rate of $150.00 for a three-hour block of time plus a $150.00 deposit. Additional hours are scheduled at the rate of $50.00 per hour, with no further deposit required.  This fee does not include use of the clubhouse as the clubhouse is rented separately.  In part, the rental fee covers the cost of paying the two LHOA hired lifeguards that are required to be present during pool use.  The Clubhouse Coordinator is required to notify the Pool Maintenance Employee, the Pool Liaison, and the Head Lifeguard of the reservation dates and times within two days of making the reservation in order for lifeguard and pool cleaning scheduling to occur.

ü        No pool party shall continue beyond midnight.

ü        LHOA will provide two lifeguards per forty people in the pool area.  LHOA reserves the right to lower the patron to lifeguard ratio due to the type of party being held.  LHOA hired lifeguards will strictly enforce the pool rules at these parties and if the persons attending do not adhere to the pool rules, the pool will be closed.

Telephone Requirement:  Texas law requires that an emergency telephone is installed, accessible, and in operating condition, year round within the pool area for use in the event of an emergency.  A touch tone phone capable of making local calls will be available during the swim season for pool staff, including lifeguards, to communicate with the Pool Manager and the LHOA Pool Liaison.

LHOA Community Pool Rules

Lifeguards are employed to ensure the safety of the swimmers and shall be treated with respect at all times.  LHOA employed Lifeguards have the right to enforce the pool rules even up to having disruptive persons leave the pool area in order to reduce the risk of personal injuries, damages or losses and/or liabilities.  If a person asked to leave the pool will not vacate the premises the Lifeguard will call the police for assistance.  Repeat violations may result in revocation of swimming privileges for the remainder of the summer.

ü        Pool tags are required for admission to the LHOA pool.  Only residents in good standing will be given pool tags.  Residents who have guests are responsible for them at all times.  If the resident leaves so do the guests.

ü        Residents under ten years old may only enter the pool area when accompanied by a parent or a guardian who is at least sixteen years of age.  Any resident ten to fourteen years old may swim without adult supervision if they pass the swim test administered by a Lifeguard.  (Swim Test = Swim the entire length of the pool without stopping or tread water in the deep end for two minutes.)

ü        Personal conduct in and around the pool and bathhouse shall be such that the safety of the individual and others are not jeopardized.  Running and rough play (throwing each other, pushing, dunking, riding on another person’s shoulders, splash fights, dog fights, etc.) shall not be permitted.

ü        Talking with the lifeguard(s) on duty is prohibited.

ü        Air mattresses, tubes and other flotation accessories larger than 6’ by 3’ shall not be allowed in the pool.  Small flotation devices may be used for small children and shall be subject to the lifeguard’s discretion.

ü        Only approved Swim Diapers are allowed in the LHOA pool.

ü        LIFEGUARDS DO NOT MONITOR THE BABY POOL!  Only non-swimming children under five years of age are allowed to use the baby pool and must stay within arms reach of their parent or guardian.

ü        Animals, Smoking, Alcohol and Glass Containers are NOT allowed in the pool area.

ü        Hanging on the lane dividers is not allowed.

ü        Trash receptacles shall be provided and used by everyone.

ü        One long whistle blast means everyone must vacate the pool immediately.
