Tennis Court Committee News:

09/14/2011 - Let’s extend a warm welcome to our new Tennis Courts Committee Chairperson, Mrs. Lada Koptelova!!  She is hosting a children’s tennis match this Saturday morning (9/17/2011) and wanted to invite everyone to come out and watch, learn, sign-up your children to create a children’s league, ask questions about lessons, etc.  They will have refreshments and coffee.  Lada’s e-mail address is lkoptelova@gmail.com.  Additional contact information for Lada can be found on the last page of the upcoming October newsletter.

08/09/2011 Board Meeting: Tennis court resurfacing and the French drain to prevent run-off between the fire station and tennis courts are both complete. The 6 foot wind screens have been ordered and should be installed in a week or so. The wooden benches and wooden crosswalk/bridge were replaced and painted free of charge as an added bonus from AAA Courts to get our business. We would like to personally thank AAA Court Services for a job well done! The courts look beautiful!!! Dave Rush will approach a homeowner well versed in tennis and ask them if they are willing to head up tennis activities and or lessons in Londonderry.

08/09/2011 Board Motions: Robert would like to propose a sign be placed at the tennis courts stating "no skateboards allowed"!! Dave pro-posed a keypad lock for the tennis courts for added security and to keep vandalism to a minimum. Ken Wheeler would like to add to this sign a reminder with instructions on how to use the timer. Robert Downey suggested we post tennis court hours. Dave Rush made a motion to install a push button lock system for the tennis courts, and that he would try to keep costs within the range of $500. Karen Seale seconded this motion. All approved. Motion carried.

General Information

This year, the courts are undergoing extensive renovation including the electrical system, lighting, nets, fences and of course, the main playing surface.  A new lock will be installed and procedures established you’re your access.

Check back here for more information.

If you should see anyone on the courts who does not belong there or is not there to play tennis, you may ask them to leave, contact a Londonderry HOA board member or contact the police.

The Tennis Court hours are from Sunrise to Midnight daily.

Tennis Court Lights

The lights on the tennis courts are designed to only operate between 5:30 PM and Midnight. Please note that when the lights are off, they will warm up quickly when the timer is engaged. However, if the timer expires and the lights go off, it will take up to 25 minutes before the lights have cooled enough to allow them to restart.

To avoid interruption to your night tennis game, keep track of the time remaining and reset the timer switch before time runs out.

Thank you,

Your Londonderry HOA Board
